Thomas Lynn

A little about myself? Sure! I mean if your taking the time to read my blog you may as well understand where I am coming from right?

I grew up in Prince Edward Island, and the culture there has played a huge role in who I am today, especially in my personality. I may not be an Islander by birth, but I am in spirit.

I traveled across our country twice in my early 20′s. I had always wanted to travel the world, but couldn’t do it until I had seen my own country. I just happened to do it twice. Since then I have traveled rural Cuba, and have had a chance to meet distant family in Ireland. Plus many trips across the US.

My first career was as a Youth Worker, working in Mental Health Group Homes for teenagers. Typically 8 males/females called this residence home. This was a very challenging environment, and one of the highlights of my life thus far. I was fulfilling my goal to help youth and provide stable environments for them to thrive.

I had the opportunity to go back to school and took Business Administration: Marketing at Algonquin College. This is where I am professionally right now, applying the skills I learned here. I was very successful during my time at Algonquin, twice representing the school at academic competitions, twice bringing back medals.

I have an amazing wife who supports me and keeps me grounded. She has provided me a stable environment which allows me to be myself and thrive. Together we have three amazing boys who challenge us everyday to be better. We live in Gatineau, Quebec, a suburban area of Ottawa with our dog Gizmo and a couple of tanks of fish.

My role in life is to support and make the life of my family better. Through this blog I want to share these experiences. On this forum I will share things that I learn, things that help my children learn, and also things that will affect my children’s lives.

Fathers and dads are seeing their roles change. If I can provide a little insight or support for men out there… perfect. Happy to help. If there is something you’d like to see, let me know. I guess that’s it. Thanks for being apart of this!
